Dr. Vijay Kumar is worthy Registrar of Guru Jambheshwar University of Science & Technology, Hisar . He holds an M.Sc. in Physics from Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak and Ph.D. in Physics from Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra. He has also qualified the UGC-CSIR JRF in 2006 and GATE in 2007. With over 12 years of teaching experience at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, Dr. Kumar specializes in materials science, particularly in ion irradiation effects on polymers, lead-free ceramics, and nanostructured materials for energy storage and harvesting applications. His contributions to the field have earned him significant recognition, including the Best Researcher Award from Kurukshetra University in 2021, and an honor from the Deputy Commissioner of Kurukshetra for his service as a member of the Oxygen Audit Team during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dr. Kumar has successfully supervised three Ph.D. scholars and 24 M.Sc. dissertations, with three additional doctoral students currently under his guidance. His research output includes over 25 peer-reviewed journal articles (SCI/Scopus/Web of science indexed), 11 papers published in conference proceedings, numerous conference presentations, and several book chapters published by reputable international publishers such as CRC Press and Taylor & Francis.
Beyond his research and teaching responsibilities, Dr. Kumar has held various academic roles, including Deputy In-charge of Horticulture and Sanitation at Kurukshetra University, Assistant In-charge of SMBGAK, and membership in the NIRF and NAAC Steering Committees. He also serves as a member of the Advanced Materials Science Centre and is responsible for managing the academic timetable at IIHS. Dr. Kumar has actively participated in over 45 national and international conferences and workshops, where he has presented research on advanced materials, energy storage technologies, and ion beam-induced effects. His dedication to research and academic excellence makes him a valuable asset to the University.
